Razorpay integration

Razorpay payments, inside WhatsApp.

Most BSPs are Stripe-first. Waaru is built for India — Razorpay-native, INR-first, UPI as the default payment method. Send a payment link inside WhatsApp, the customer pays in three taps, the webhook fires back, your order updates. No website redirect, no checkout drop-off.

No credit card. No commitment.

Chapter 01

Pay inside WhatsApp.

Send a Razorpay payment link in chat. Customer taps, picks UPI / card / wallet / net banking, pays in seconds. The receipt arrives in WhatsApp. The webhook fires back to Waaru in real time. If the order originated in Shopify, it's marked paid automatically.

Chapter 02

COD-to-prepaid conversion.

On COD order placement, the AI sends a Razorpay link with a small incentive to switch to prepaid. Typical 10–20% of COD orders convert. RTO on those orders drops by roughly half. The Shopify order auto-updates from COD to prepaid.

Chapter 03

Subscriptions and recurring payments.

Razorpay Subscriptions are supported natively. Send a subscription link via WhatsApp, the customer authorises, and Waaru tracks the subscription lifecycle — created, authenticated, active, paused, cancelled, payment failed. Subscription messages and renewal reminders run as flows.

Chapter 04

Refunds — initiated from WhatsApp.

A customer asks for a refund in chat. The AI verifies eligibility against your policy, escalates if outside, and processes the refund via the Razorpay tool call once approved. Refund receipt arrives in WhatsApp. The order updates everywhere.

Chapter 05

Why Razorpay, not Stripe.

Stripe doesn't have a meaningful India presence for this use case. UPI is the dominant payment method for sub-₹10,000 purchases. International cards are a tax of 2–3% on top. Razorpay-first is the correct call for Indian SMBs running WhatsApp commerce.

FAQ

Questions worth answering.

Waaru supports Stripe for international transactions but Razorpay is the recommended INR-first choice. For Indian D2C and SMB, Razorpay's UPI support is the conversion-critical piece.
