Manage message templates
Sync template status, use the library and test approved templates.
Reviewed
Use Templates to compare Waaru's stored template record with the latest state available from Meta. Sync before a launch when a template was recently approved, edited, paused, or disabled.
Refresh template status
- Open Templates and select the correct WhatsApp number.
- Select Sync from Meta.
- Wait for the refresh to finish, then review the status and quality shown on each template.
Sync imports templates already present in the connected business account and updates known records. It does not approve a pending template or make an ineligible template sendable.
Use the template library
Open Template library, choose a category or use Search templates, inspect Tap to preview, then select Use template to open the draft editor. The library provides structured starting points. Review every field, category, language, variable, and sample before submission. The final message is your responsibility even when it began from a reusable example.
Manage public template media
Open Templates → Manage media to upload or select an image, video, or document. Select a file, edit its Display name, and choose Save name. Renaming changes the label without changing the public link or templates that use it.
Choose Use in a template to open creation with that media selected. Unused uploads may be removed after 7 days. Existing private inbox attachments stay separate and are not published by this page.
Test an approved template
Choose the exact sending number and a contact you are permitted to message. In the test dialog, select the sending number and enter Recipient phone number. Fill required body and button variables, plus the media or catalog inputs shown for that template. Open Message preview to review the resolved content and selected media, then select Send test. Saving media for future broadcasts preserves the recipient and sample values in the open test dialog. Test sends remain subject to sender connection, template approval, consent, provider restrictions, quality, and rate limits.
Yellow phone or template quality blocks new campaigns and template tests. An approved template with explicitly pending quality can send when its provider state is fresh. A connected phone explicitly marked as not rated yet can also send when its provider state is fresh. These exceptions do not bypass consent, provider restrictions, or sending limits.
Pending quality is different from pending approval: a template awaiting approval cannot send. Red quality, stale or missing information, legacy unknown values, and disconnected senders also block the relevant send. Refresh the provider state and resolve the underlying condition before retrying.
Handle rejection or disablement
Open the template details and use the provider feedback as the starting point. Check that the category reflects the actual purpose, the content is specific, variables have samples, and buttons lead to the promised action. Edit or recreate only through the action available for that state, then wait for a new review result.
